An Oasis is "a place between." It is a place of rest. It is a place of growth. It is a place of life in the middle of a desert. Oasis is also the Network's online gathering. It is a place between where we are now, and where God is leading us. It is a place of refreshment, renewal, learning and connection. Topic: Cultivating Conversation for Inclusion of Youth with Disabilities 

People who live with disabilities are the group least likely to be active in a faith community. Some barriers are structural, while others are driven by a lack of understanding, social norms, and theological questions. This webinar is a starting point for how congregations can address barriers and begin conversation with people who live with disabilities that moves towards fuller inclusion into the body of Christ.

About the presenter...

Pastor Jonathan Vehar serves as Associate to the Bishop and Director for Evangelical Mission for the South Dakota Synod. Having lived his own life with a "hidden disability", he has worked throughout this church in advocay and leadership development for those with disabilities. and as a congregation pastor seeking to live out a visual of fuller inclusion. Jonathan also serves as Team Leader for The tAble, the pre-gathering event for youth with disabilities with the ELCA Youth Gathering.
